ICON Park elevates dining experiences with The Wheelhouse Market
ICON Park, located on International Drive Orlando, is more commonly known as I-Drive is taking guests on a culinary trip around the world with its new Wheelhouse Market. The all-new food hall features multiple concepts, ranging from exotic offerings to sweet treats.
The Wheelhouse Market, located at the base of The Wheel at ICON Park, is the brainchild of Restaurant Tour Hospitality Group, which is taking its success from Winter Park to the heart of I-Drive.
“We are proud to pair with local restauranteurs to create an experience unlike any other on famous I-Drive,” said Chris Jaskiewicz, President and CEO of ICON Park. “You can take a ride on The Wheel, and just steps away, you can try some of Orlando’s most creative and diverse food options.”
The Wheelhouse Market first set up shop in ICON Park in spring 2019. The restaurant concepts have evolved since then to include Shack Sweets, Sausage Shack, Latin 21 Street Food, and 1905 Pizza & Pasta.
“ICON Park continues to grow and become one of the leaders in tourist destinations. We are glad to be partnered with them and to grow our business alongside them,” said Christopher Buxton, co-owner of Restaurant Tour Hospitality Group. “We felt as though ICON Park was the perfect location to introduce our restaurant brands to people from all over the country and the world.”
Guests can enjoy decadent desserts at Shack Sweets. New in November, Food Network “Cupcake Wars” winner, Jillian Hopke, is relocating her Jillycakes operation to Shack Sweets and partnering with Restaurant Tour Hospitality Group. She will bake fresh cupcakes daily and offer dessert classes to the public. In addition to Jillycakes, the orange cake at Shack Sweets is a “can’t miss” item that highlights those great citrus flavors of Florida.
The second location for this Winter Park staple features sausages handpicked from the most beautiful selections around the world. There are 12 different homemade mustards to try, along with the freshly baked, giant Bavarian pretzels. Sausage Shack’s mouth-watering options include a bacon mac ‘n cheese sausage, along with bangers and mash.
Latin 21 Street Food
With tastes straight out of Latin America, Latin 21 Street Food features dishes from various regions. Guests can take their taste buds on a journey with classics like the authentic Cuban sandwich with roasted pork and sautéed ham or the tostones plate—fried green plantains topped with tender meat, coleslaw, and cheese. Keep an eye out for all sorts of new creations, as the menu changes seasonally.
1905 Pizza & Pasta
1905 Pizza & Pasta features dishes based on Italian American tradition. The list includes specialty pizzas and gluten-free dough options. Guests can craft their pizzas and relax, while the food is prepared fresh for them. The customization does not stop there. Pasta includes a choice of sauces and toppings made to guests’ tastes.
The Wheelhouse Market is open every day, starting at noon.
